Hi, I'm Hayley Butler,
I am originally from Birmingham and I moved to Omagh, Northern Ireland at the beginning of 2026.
I currently work online with clients from all over the UK and Northern Ireland.
I am an integrative counsellor, which means I will work with you, to suit your needs, and in partnership together, work intuitively and creatively to understand deep rooted beliefs, relational patterns and develop a stronger sense of self, influenced by person-centred, gestalt and psychodynamic therapy.
"As you start to walk on the way, the way appears"
Rumi
I am a compassionate, warm and gentle in my approach and believe you are not broken but human and as humans we can experience pain, anxiety, can feel stuck in traumatic past events or in the situations we feel we can’t change.
Together, we can work together to become aware of what is getting in your way and to support you begin to feel you have choices and flexibility to to experience growth and change.
I began my professional journey in primary education, where I had the privilege of teaching and supporting young children during some of the most formative years of their lives. Teaching taught me more than lesson planning and classroom management — it gave me a front-row seat to human growth, resilience, and the struggles that often remain unseen. I learned to meet children where they were, to adapt to diverse needs, and to cultivate patience, empathy, and deep listening. Working closely with children and their families also showed me the profound impact that feeling seen, heard, and supported can have on a person’s confidence and well-being.
While I loved teaching, I began to notice a growing pull in another direction. I noticed that what I valued most was the human connection — the quiet moments of helping a child believe in themselves, guiding them through emotional challenges, or supporting parents navigating difficulties at home. I realised my heart was leading me toward work that allowed for deeper one-on-one connection, healing, and transformation.
This led me to retrain as a counsellor. In making this career shift, I carried forward the skills that had always been at the heart of my work: empathy, curiosity, and the ability to create a safe and supportive space for growth. Now, instead of helping children find their voice in the classroom, I support adults who are seeking to reconnect with theirs.
I qualified from Birmingham Newman University with a distinction in BACP accredited Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling.
I am committed to ongoing professional and personal development and regularly attend workshops, conferences, and specialist training to deepen my knowledge in areas such as trauma, addictive behaviours, and mental health. I also engage in regular clinical supervision and reflective practice to ensure high standards of care.
